Bollé
- Back in 1888, the Bollé family founded a small manufacturing company in Oyonnax, France, that designed and fabricated ornamental hair combs. In 1997, the Bollé family business was purchased by an American company, BEC Group, and became Bollé Inc.

Leatherman
- Multi-purpose tool. In 1975, Tim Leatherman was on a "low-budget" trip through Europe. He got fed up with his standard "scouter's knife." It just wasn't much help on old hotel plumbing and his unreliable car. What he really needed was a compact pocket knife with full-size pliers, but no such tool existed. After eight years on prototypes he and Steve Berliner founded Leatherman Tool Group, Inc. and began production of the original Leatherman Tool.

Ortovox
- In 1980, Gerald Kampel, founder and owner of Ortovox Sportartikel GmbH developedg and marketed the first ever double frequency transceiver. Today Ortovox manufactures avalanche shovels, probes, touring and deep snow rucksacks and first aid bags for ski tourers. It was after all pointless to be able to locate a friend but then be unable to dig him out or administer first aid. Since 1988 Ortovox has been involved in the clothing sector.
